Watching Bugs Move

Today we are going to search for Minibeasts!

A Minibeast is a fun name for bugs or other small animals :)

(in Canada we usually say "Ladybug" not Ladybird")

There are many Mini beast Adventures with Jess Videos! (they are in short bits and are great for kindergarten)

Try it!
Hunt for Minibeasts! Look high, look low, look on the trees and under sticks. This is an activity for using our eyes. What colour is the bug? How big is it?  Does it have wings? How many legs does it have? Pay special attention to how the bugs (or other minibeasts) move. Do they walk? wiggle? jump?

I have sent a checklist for you - you can make a checkmark or an X in the circle when you find one of these Minibeasts! If you don't want to use this list, you can write out your own list. Add any other Minibeasts that you see on your list, or on the back of the paper.
Newts, snakes and frogs will be hard to find in our backyards. You might have to go farther afield for those. Newts are very shy, and very hard to see!

Draw a picture of your favourite bug. Add as much detail as you can. If you know what kind of bug it is, then write that word on your page. If you don't know, try to find out what it is!
