Morning Message for Wednesday, April 8

Today is the International Day of Pink!
The Day of Pink is the international day against bullying, discrimination and homophobia. It began when two students in Nova Scotia saw another student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. The next day, almost the whole school wore pink in support of the boy who was bullied. Because anyone can wear any colour that they want and expect to be safe. The day is usually marked by wearing a pink shirt and by organizing activities in workplaces, schools and communities. Today we will wear pink at home.
Even though we'll all be at home, everyone is encouraged to put on a pink shirt to raise awareness and continue the fight for equity and acceptance.

Watch Ms. Brown's message to you HERE!

Evren! You are our helper! You can take the attendance to the office :) Evren, you can write the names of the people who are home right now and bring your paper to someone else. Even your sister!
You need to be extra helpful today. What will you do?

Parents: I think that we are ready to add a weather sentence! I'm pretty sure that most Room 9 children can read if because it is full of familiar words.

Just wanted to say thanks for using all the tools and technology to do the best job you can remotely and help the parents and kids. It's really helped us put some structure around our learning and we appreciate it.
