We have been learning about sorting.
Sorting means putting things in groups according to a rule.
When sorting objects, we separate them according to similarities and differences. When comparing, the children determine if an object has more or less of an attribute. Classifying and sorting activities help children to develop a range of thinking skills and build the foundations for later problem-solving.
We have sorted objects by their colours, by size and by shape (by kind or "what they are")

Sorting by "kind" (or shape)
We talked about why we need to sort things. In our classroom, it makes it easier to find things.
When we are grocery shopping, it makes things easier to find too!
